AA 017. Group
photo taken at Martin Ulmer home, probably early 1914.
Man in hat at left may be Martin Ulmer.
Two men at right next to tree are Emerson Heim and probably
Norman Ulmer. Man in
beard in dark suit to Emerson’s right is Joseph G. Heim with his
wife Rosa. Woman on
left end of back row is Mary Ulmer Wuster.
Man in suit to her lower left is Melvin Heim.
Woman in white, rear center, is Sarah Heim Ulmer.
Man with mustache to left of tall man with hat center back
row is Samuel F. Heim. Woman
to his right front is Edna Ulmer.
Man in black hat, right rear, is probably Emanuel Ulmer.
Picture was sent to Watson Kiess on April 7, 1914, the day
after Jacob G. Heim died, but obviously was taken before that. Woman to Emerson Heim’s left may be Mrs. Jacob G. (Regina)
Heim. Orville wrote
that “Grandpa was not able to go so is not in it.”
His grandfather would have been Emanuel Ulmer.
Possibly he was referring to his great-grandfather, Jacob G.
Heim. The postcard
read, “Dear Cousin, This
is not very good but you know most of them.
It was taken at Uncle Martin’s when we first came home.
None of our pictures were good that day.
I wish you a happy Easter and also anniversary, this will get
to you on that day, I hope. Grandpa
was not able to go so it not in it.
With Love, Orville” |

Send Us Your Photos
|
Family photographs are an important part of our
heritage, and I am sure many of you find those that we publish
interesting. But photographs have a way of disappearing and are
lost forever.
The Historical Society is attempting to collect these photos.
Please make a special effort to send us photos of people and places
so that we can preserve them in a central location. If you send
them, we will copy and return them. Better yet, since there is
always a chance of their being lost in the mail, you might make
copies and send them along. If you have pictures from digital
cameras or scanned in pictures you can e-mail them or send them
on disk or CD. Larger more detailed files are best.
Please write identifications on the back! Send them to Penn Colony Nebraska, 71329 638 Ave., Dawson, NE 68337
(or bring them to the picnic).
Thanks. -KMH
